This is a fabric book I made for Valentine's Day. I have been having fun with the new book on Fabric Journals. I'm ready to move on to some more styles. They are sooooo easy to make and a great backdrop for lots of luscious fibers!

My first attempts at "art squared" were fun. I did a marker sketch in micron archval pen, then hand painted them with watercolor pencils. Then I added some ephemera and dipped them in beeswax and mounted them on matboard for strength.

A Garden Carried in the Pocket

Pendant mania continues with another slide charm with danglies.

Christmas Pendants

These pendants were made as Christmas gifts. I think my soldering skills are finally coming along and I love making these tiny framed art works. The themes were secret lovers, paris and worthy. I glued on some metal charms and added pearl dangles before topping them with hand-dyed silk ribbons.

Beasts

Unlikely beasts are everywhere. This deco spread incorporates an old navy photo from the antique store and a number of tiles I made to resemble mosaic. They are created on black posterboard which is topped with decorative papers then glazed and cut into squares.

Family Zine Project

FINALLY! Finis! I'll upload more pix of the family zine later, but here's the completed book which contains artistamps, atc's, a dvd, two cd's and lots and lots of tags, pullouts and mini-zines. This book is a limited edition of 5 copies which were given as Christmas gifts to my Mom and my brothers and sister. It was months of work and contains the answers to a family survey everyone was so kind as to fill out for me. Everyone in our family helped to put this together and it was a labor of love. More to come...

Altered Picture Frame

I altered this plain white picture frame as a Christmas gift. It includes an antique hatpin, skeleton key which is enameled with Cloisonne, small vial of antique beads, colored pearls, vintage brass charms, bits of amber from a bracelet I bought in the French Market in New Orleans, an old rhinetone button and other doodads. The base is made from faux tiles to look like mosaic. The tiles are created by gluing assorted papers to black posterboard with 3m spray glue. Then they're coated with gel medium, dried and cut into smaller squares. The project was coated with clear laquer after the tiles were glued to the frame, and then the embellishments were added.
