Inspired by Chrysti's 1" collage square marathon, Amy organized a swap and I challenged myself to at least 100 squares. I finished something like 107 and feel another wave coming on. I'm finding these work great for covering altered books and making atc's and picture frames and just about anything that calls for mosaic squares. I did all of my backgrounds at one, using spray inks and edging with inkpads. Then I raided all the mini images I could find in my files. On to some stamping, colored pencils, glitter, text and etc. Here is the first step: backgrounds.

Challenged to make a mini personal zine for a swap, I've decided to turn my new blog into a regular zine issue. My Compact Year (mycompactyear.blogspot.com) discusses my year of not purchasing retail merchandise and my effort to reduce my personal waste output. Here are some sample pages from the zine version.

Love Talk Art Print

This was a new challenge--to create a mini limited edition art print using traditional printing methods. Mine is a carved stamp on the theme of Valentine's Day, stamped with acrylics on white watercolor paper, then numbered and dated.

These adorable atc's came in the mail from Miss Fish. I just had to share them. So very piraty yet emo. They are the diet coke of evil skeletons! I love them!
