Auctions

Here is a link to current eBay auctions. I continue to clean out my studio and am listing vintage letters, found items, rusty things, freaky clown faces, chunky books, REALLY chunky books, thread sketched atc's, vintage lenses, bits, bobs and buttons, atc/aceo lots and MORE! If you help me then I don't have to go on some sort of reality tv show and fess up my "stuff issue."

A Cupcake of Your Own

In between studio cleaning I decided to make a fabric book for auction. This book is based on one which will be featured in the next ish of Cloth Paper Scissors. I used an old child's board book and covered it with hand dyed fabric. Then I painted some scrumptious cupcakes and added watercolor text. Both are stitched on the sewing machine for texture and a "sketched" look.

Making a Statement

My thoughts have been turning toward an artist statement, simply because I am having so much trouble defining my work. Recently, I had a smorgasbord of artwork splayed out on a table and a friend said "you can really tell that all of this is yours." Because I work on each individual project with no preconceived notion of a "style," I was surprised that someone felt that there was some cohesiveness among the different kinds of art. I am starting to identify the things that appear as threads throughout my creative life. Color saturation may be a hallmark and maybe we'll just start with that. When I create, color is going to be present and it's going to be juicy. I'll fill you in later on the spoons...

Mess or Inspiration?

Do you like your studio pristine or a creative mess? I find that I like to have beautiful bits of inspiration all around me--which can look a little messy to some people.
