Giving Art Away ATC Raffle

So many people stop by this blog that I am flummoxed. It's not as bloggy as you deserve, but many factors in my personal life interfere. I will probably share them some day. I'm going to try and offer a little more "how-to" in the future, but until then, feel free to ask about a particular method and I will always share! As I prepare to head off to Chicago for the International Quilt Show, I wanted to bring along some thread sketched atc's for virtual studio, so I made a few, posted here. When I get back I will raffle these off to whoever fancies them. If you leave a comment to this post, I'll include your name in the big bag of magic. On April 20 I'll randomly (is there any other way?) pull out names and start mailing out atc's.

Make It U Mica Tags

Here's the tag book we'll make at Quilt Fest Chicago and Make It U. The fun part is the mica tag. I'm going to be doing more with those. It's a real simple packing tape transfer glued on mica chips then stained with...what else? Alcohol inks. The shipping tags are briefly soaked in Procion MX fabric dye (I keep it in my fridge next to the eggs), then ironed. We just glue on some strips of fun fabric and tie the whole thing together. Voila! I'll have some other colors and images to choose from at my class.

Sweet Tooth

Gee, I wonder if I have a sweet tooth! As my sister always says "you're sweet and I'm savory." I have never drawn a bag of potato chips, but it could happen.
