I altered this plain white picture frame as a Christmas gift. It includes an antique hatpin, skeleton key which is enameled with Cloisonne, small vial of antique beads, colored pearls, vintage brass charms, bits of amber from a bracelet I bought in the French Market in New Orleans, an old rhinetone button and other doodads. The base is made from faux tiles to look like mosaic. The tiles are created by gluing assorted papers to black posterboard with 3m spray glue. Then they're coated with gel medium, dried and cut into smaller squares. The project was coated with clear laquer after the tiles were glued to the frame, and then the embellishments were added.
