This is my first attempt at encaustic painting and it's still a work in progress. I started with a photo we took in an Ottawa County park. This old DeSoto was rusting away in the woods and it fascinated us. I manipulated the color and printed it out on artist's canvas as a base. Then I began applying the beeswax medium to bring out the detail. Finally, I've added a sheet of mica, some vintage ephemera, stamps and acrylic paint.
Awesome work! I love the way you manipulated the colors - they really pop!
