I met Karen Pharr at International Quilt Festival and fell in love with her new textile paints. While doing Open Studios, I worked on this print of my daughter. I printed it out on inkjet-prepared cotton fabric, then had a ball adding layers of rich, saturated paint from Karen's line. I was drawn to her booth because the paint colors were very "me." As it turns out, I went back twice for more! When I got home, I outlined the fabric painting in black machine stitch. I'm going to turn it into a quilt. Consider this a hearty endorsement of Karen Pharr textile paints. I'm looking forward to working with them some more and Karen has some tips and tricks on her site.
So coo!
ReplyDeleteHey! I just finished watching your Stitch Imagery, NOW that was fun!!! I love these colors and will check out Karens paints. I just finished doing some Koi fish on a small wall quilt, and I just can't decide weather to paint them or not...
