Spoon Poetry Tutorial

Here's a video tutorial...my FIRST! Make some spoon poetry to hang on the fridge or as a wall decoration, or turn them into spoon books. This video is divided into two parts because I talk too much. Enjoy!

  1. what a fab idea, Kelli. I love your videos and don't think you are talking to much. This looks like a great "craft with the neighbor ladies" project.

Love it Kelli! I especially like the birds providing the soundtrack. Very subtle yet effective.

    Two questions:
    1. How do you tell that a spoon is silver plated?
    2. Where do I buy "Nonfancy" felt? Is that a registered trademark?

    Love you!

  9. Love this! It's so much easier than I thought it was going to be. Now I have to head to the antique mall in town for some silver plated spoons. Thanks so much for the tutorial, have a Blessed week.

  11. Good job on the video, Kelli! You do *not* talk too much! It was just right. I loved these when I saw them in CPS and now I'll have to give to those sterling plated spoons I see and make some. Thank you! Marilyn

  14. A silverplate spoon will have that lovely patina and might say silverplate or "s". Also things by Rogers are usually silverplate. Stainless will look pristine. That's no good now. Nonfancy felt....well, it's all probably nonfancy. I know that Ranger wants you to buy some special pads from them. That is fancy. I don't cotton to no fancy pads.

  15. Kelli...
I'm on dial-up so the videos are difficult...but the photos tell the story! Don't you think that Wooden Spoons could work as well??? Reed/Wood dyes and then words....and music???

    I thoroughly enjoy your work!

  16. Now you've really done it. I just bought two lots of mixed silver plated spoons on ebay - I think I'll make a spoon poetry garland to go over my cabinets - except they'll be to far up to read. Hmmm. I'll have to think about it.
    LOVE your work!
